Fragrance Guide
New to Arabian perfumes or not sure which Anfar fragrance to choose? This guide explains the basics.
Scent families
- Gourmand: sweet, edible notes like vanilla, caramel, praline and chocolate.
- Fresh and citrus: bright, clean notes like bergamot, lemon, orange and cool accords. Great for daytime and warm weather.
- Amber and spicy: warm resins, amber and spices like cinnamon, cardamom and saffron. Ideal for evenings and cooler months.
- Oud and woody: deep notes of oud (agarwood), sandalwood and cedar, the signature of Arabian perfumery.
- Floral and fruity: rose, jasmine and juicy fruit notes.
Top, heart and base notes
Top notes are what you smell first, during the first 15 to 30 minutes. Heart notes appear next and form the character of the fragrance. Base notes are the long-lasting dry-down that stays on skin for hours.
Concentrations
- Eau de Parfum (EDP): a balanced concentration for everyday wear.
- Extrait de Parfum: the richest concentration, with the longest wear.
- Concentrated perfume oil (attar): alcohol-free oil applied directly to the skin.
How to choose
Think about when you will wear it. Fresh and citrus scents suit daytime, the office and summer. Gourmand, amber and oud scents shine at night and in fall and winter. Every product page lists the scent family, notes, best seasons and occasions to help you decide.
